This temporary visa lets an employer sponsor a suitably skilled worker to fill a position they can’t find a suitably skilled Australian to fill.

• have the right skills to do the job

It lets you live and work in Australia temporarily. Labour agreements are developed between the Australian Government (represented by the Department) and employers. Stay Up to a maximum of 4 years, depending on the terms in the labour agreement.

• be nominated by an approved Australian employer for a job in regional Australia

• be under 45 years of age

• meet the skills, qualifications and English language requirements

Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme visa (subclass 187) Direct entry stream

This visa lets skilled workers, who are nominated by an employer, live and work in Australia permanently. Apply for this stream if you don't meet the criteria for the Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) stream. For this visa:

• you must be nominated by an Australian employer

• you will work for your nominating employer in regional Australia

• your occupation must be on the relevant list of eligible skilled occupations • you must have at least Competent English
